SSA Feed

Simple Stand Alone feed SSA


      Simple Stand Alone Feed or "SSA Feed" is a convenient way of providing information about new content or changes made in the existing content of a web-space. This information has to be provided in a specific format. This standardized format facilitates automatic extraction of feed information by application programmes which can be developed by any third-party vendor. In its simplest form, the information is provided in a heading-synopsis style.

        SSA 1.0 feed Specifications :

    1. SSA feed-page should be made available at the same place where Home-Page (i.e., the file index.html) is located.

    2. SSA feed-page should have the filename feedssa.html

    3. SSA feed-page should be HTML 3.2 compliant document or above.

    4. SSA feed-page should contain a "title" marked as a link which points to the contact details of the content provider. The text of the "title" should be immediately preceded by a tag <!TITLE> and the same text should be immediately followed by a tag <!TITLE>.

    5. SSA feed-page should contain a "topic-heading" marked as a link which points to the web-page which has been modified or freshly added. The text of the "topic-heading" should be immediately preceded by a tag <!THEADING> & the same text should be immediately followed by a tag <!THEADING>.

    6. SSA feed-page should contain a "synopsis" which gives brief or complete information about the new content or about the changes made in the contents of the existing page.  &nbp; The text of the "synopsis" should be immediately preceded by a tag
