Pakistan & Democracy

Pakistan's formal government has lost control over western districts of Pakistan such as Chitral, Dir, Shangla, Buner, Malakaland, Swat valley etc. This should NOT be mistaken for Taliban takeover of these districts. Generally, we tend to believe that the so-called democratic governments work flawlessly & are always correct. But the ground reality is that the formal main-stream government of Pakistan completely failed to take into account the aspirations of local people from these districts. This discontent was building up since Lal Masjid episode & today the same discontent has simply coagulated into a full fledged revolt against central government of Pakistan. It can be compared with independent Vidarbha movement in Maharashtra. Just as Vidarbha population doesn't want the Maharashtra assembly resolutions to be binding upon Vidarbha, the local people in these western Pakistan districts do not want the resolutions of Pakistan parliament to be binding upon them. As such, they have set up their own local judiciary, education system, security force etc. This entire episode is once again pointing out the limitations of DEMOCRACY in general. Immature democracies almost always facilitate selective use of government machinery for silencing unwanted persons or groups !!!

पाकिस्तानचे तालिबानिकरण

पश्चिम पाकिस्तानमधील अनेक जिल्ह्यांमधे स्थानिक जनतेने स्वतःचे प्रांतिक सरकार स्थापन केले. जनरल परवेझ मुशर्रफ ह्यांच्या राजिनाम्यानंतर लोकशाही प्रक्रियेचा उदो करत अस्तित्वात आलेलं पाकिस्तानमधील main-stream Government अनेक आघाडयांवर अपयशी ठरलं आहे. पश्चिम पाकिस्तानमधील स्थानिक जनतेच्या भावनांचा सतत अनादर केल्यामुळेच तेथे आजची ही परिस्थिती ओढवली आहे. स्वतःचं हे अपयश झाकण्यासाठी पाकिस्तान आता ISI च्या मदतीने खोटयानाटया कंडया पिकवत आहे. आज जिओ टीव्ही चॅनेलच्या एका वार्ताहराची तालिबान्यांकरवी झालेली कथित हत्त्या हा ह्याच खोटारडेपणाचा एक भाग आहे. सतीश शुक्ला नामक भारतीयावर लाहोर विस्फोटांचा बेधडक खोटा आरोप ठेवण्याचा प्रयत्न करणारे पाकिस्तान सरकार कोणत्याही पातळीपर्यंत खाली उतरू शकतं. "खोटारडेपणा" हा तालिबानी वृत्तीचा आविष्कार असं समजलं तर तालिबानीकरण झालेला पाकिस्तान म्हणजे पश्चिम पाकिस्तान नव्हे तर भारताच्या सीमेला लागून असलेला पाकिस्तानचा मुख्य भूभागच आहे.
मग अशा परिस्थितीत अमेरिकेची नक्की भूमिका काय आहे ? तुम्हांला तालिबानी प्रवृत्तीच्या विरोधात लढायचं असेल तर ISI च्या गळ्यात गळा घालून बसलेल्या मुख्य पाकिस्तानविरुद्ध लढा, जिओ टीव्ही चॅनेलच्या थापेबाजीविरुद्ध बोला. उगाच ड्रोन विमानं वापरून पश्चिम पाकिस्तानमधे फटाके का वाजवताय ?
