India's Nuclear Programme

The Congress led government under the influence of the Left is making silly mistakes while chalking-out India's Nuclear Programme. Indian Market driven economy, with more than 30 crore subscribers, is unnecessarily yielding to unreasonable demands from international watch-dogs. Why can't Russia & France supply nuclear reactors to India without insisting on safeguards agreement with IAEA ? Afterall, neither Russia nor France can dare go against the sentiments of Indian market.
But Left parties have developed a slave mentality & do not have enough courage to question the international community. There may not be a dearth of skills within Indian market; but there seems to be a shortage of confidence required to deal with international players. Left parties have developed undue affinity towards America & that's why they are not interested in promoting Indo-Russian & Indo-French commerce. Because of the weak pro-US coalition government at the center, US president George W. Bush could dare issue a ridiculous statement : " Global food prices are rising because Indians eat just too much."
It is only a myth that Indian Left parties are obsessed with ideology. In fact, the word IDEOLOGY stands belittled when used in conjunction with Indian Left. The absurd policies of the Left parties are likely to make India more reliant on US by reducing its wider international options.
